Following our trip in Japan, we wanted to stay a few days in the Middle East, just to relax before heading back home. So after the Atlantis in Dubai, we decided to finish our summer vacation at the Shangri La Abu Dhabi Hotel Qaryat al Beri. This was convenient, as our flight to Europe was leaving from Abu Dhabi.
Shangri La Abu Dhabi
We found a great deal for an Executive Suite with access to the Club Lounge (Horizon Club).
The welcome was amazing. As soon as we arrived at the Shangri La, we were taken to a dedicated area on the Club level for a private checkin. Due to a mistake during check out in our previous hotel, our visa card had been blocked. This was quite embarrassing, but the personnel was really nice in helping us solve the problem. During that time, the kids were taken to the lounge for some free snacks and drinks. Finally we could discover our suite and it was quite nice and really spacious.
The Executive Suite
The first room is equipped with a table for a relaxed dinner and a lounge area. There’s also a big desk if you need to get some work done.
We loved these little treats when we came back from dinner.
The main bedroom is quite large in size. It is linked to the living room on one side and to a huge dressing area and the bathroom on the other.
From the main room you have access to the balcony with views on the canal, beach, pool and the amazing Mosque.
View on the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
Relaxing by the infinity pool with such a view is just amazing! For sure the Shangri La in Abu Dhabi is an excellent place to stay.
Pros:
• Good location, close to the Mosque
• Gorgeous views from the room and the infinity pool
• Shaded pool for kids with buckets & spades
• Very friendly and professional staff
• Extensive breakfast at Sofra Bld
Cons:
• the constant sound of jet skis just behind the pool
