Family Travel Blog from Luxembourg

Leaving for the trip Around the World, August 2015

Welcome and thank you for stopping by. We are a luxembourgish family of 4 with a passion for traveling.

We share our travel experience with kids, whether it is visiting a city, doing a roadtrip or just relaxing on a beach. We hope to inspire other families to go out and travel the world. Our experience proved that the earliest you take the kids and travel, be it near or far, the best it is. Traveling becomes a routine, something you have experienced and not something to be afraid of. From early on, your children get to know new cultures, new people, new languages and new food. It’s about the unknown which clearly can be intimidating at first, but once you go out and see what’s beyond your comfort zone you see real life. We share travel tips and tricks as well as reviewing hotels/resorts and airlines. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We’ll be happy to help!

“By the age of three, our kids had been to China, the Maldives, Mauritius, Italy and multiple times to the USA, Seychelles, UAE, Bahrain, Canada, Greece, Spain, Belgium, France and Germany”

You’re probably wondering why we called our blog “LetzFlyAway”…So let us explain. “Letz” are the 4 first letters of “Letzebuerg” meaning Luxembourg. Luxembourg is a teeny tiny country in Europe settled between France, Germany and Belgium. And yes, it is a country on its own, and no, it’s not Germany. And you guessed it, that’s where we live. Because the country is so small we can’t wait to escape whenever possible. So that’s the “Fly Away” part. But don’t get us wrong, Luxembourg might be one of the tiniest countries in the world but it sure has a lot to offer! And we’re here to prove you that too!

Who is the family behind Letzflyaway?

Anouk, a 30- something lawyer who decided to become a full time mom, all while planning the next familytrip (or adult getaway if the grandparents agree to babysit) – whereas her husband, Aurélien, is flying people around Europe. During their free time, they enjoy eating in their favourite local restaurants and catching up with friends. Their children, Alexandre (13) and Chloé (11) like school but they are more excited when it’s time to head to the airport. Both have been traveling since they were only a few weeks old. Just because you have a baby or young children does not mean you have to stay at home. They are gonna show you why it is important to take your kids on trips from baby years on! By the age of three, their children had been to China, the Maldives, Mauritius, Italy and multiple times to the USA, Seychelles, UAE, Bahrain, Canada, Greece, Spain, Belgium, France and Germany.

About Us: Family travel Blog from Luxembourg

Seychelles, November 2012

Besides the focus on traveling with kids they also want to share the restaurants they like and of course life and sights in Luxembourg.

In Summer 2015 the family embarked on their biggest adventure to date, a 5 weeks trip around the world. In 2016 they managed to be away from home a total of 107 nights. 2017 marked the year of their second trip around the world where they all agreed that Cambodia was the highlight.

We’re glad you’re here and hope you enjoy the blog. To help us grow Letzflyaway, we’d be thrilled if you like our Facebook page, follow us on Twitter, Instagram or subscribe to new posts. Thank you!

Thank you for proving to the rest of the world that International travel is still possible even after you decide to settle down to start a family! I have heard of Luxembourg, but have never visited your lovely country. I hope to be able to the next time I visit Europe.
