NH Hotel Ghent Belfort Review

The first stop on our 3- day trip to Belgium was Ghent. The NH Hotel Ghent Belfort was our choice for the night.

NH Hotel Ghent Belfort

The first plus of this hotel is that it is really in the center of the city. Everything is in walking distance. These days unfortunately, public works right next to the hotel gave us a hard time accessing the hotel. But this should be no issue anymore in mid 2016.

The lobby is nice and modern. We used the hotel’s private parking (16€ per day) located just below the lobby. This is pretty convenient as you can go directly from the parking to the lobby by elevator. Checking in was easy and although we had booked a standard room, we were upgraded a superior room.

NH Hotel Ghent Belfort – The Room

The room was very spacious, especially for two. We had a king bed, a separate sofa, a desk, a Nespresso machine and a minibar.

A small corridor with a closet on both sides led to a well equipped bathroom: Two sinks, separate bath and shower with nice products, bathrobes and slippers.

After a good night’s sleep, it was time for breakfast. What we didn’t realize is that the price for breakfast is cheaper when you book it with the room. So we paid the full price (19,95€), but it was worth it.

There was a bit of everything, hot and cold dishes. Even a machine to make your own belgian waffles.

And a cute corner for the little ones!

Generally, we were happy about our stay and would probably stay here again on a next trip to Ghent.

On the way back home we stopped in Brussels and were overwhelmed by the large number of chocolate boutiques in the center. Recently we had the pleasure of tasting a variety of chocolates from Planète Chocolat. Planète Chocolat is a true ambassador of Belgian chocolates: 100% pure cocoa butter, free from GMO, preservatives and artificial colorings.

Our home delivered chocolates came in a special isothermal package so to guarantee the quality and taste. Additionally they were inside in a posh velvet bag. What striked us was their delicate taste. You literally flavour the cocoa bean with every bite. We all agreed that it was one of best chocolates we ever got to try.

Free delivery in Luxembourg

But you’re probably wondering why we tell you about these chocolates. Well, you can actually get Planète Chocolat’s pralines and tablets without traveling to Brussels. The best thing about this, besides of course the excellent quality is that the chocolate delivery in Luxembourg is free and delivered within 24h. But no panic, Planète Chocolat delivers all over the world. No more excuses for not eating Belgian chocolates wherever in the world you live!
