A relaxing stopover at the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport in Singapore |

We decided to spent this year’s Easter break in Bali with a stopover in Singapore. On the onward journey we opted to stay one night in Singapore as we didn’t want to risk missing the connecting flight after flying in from Europe. The Crowne Plaza Changi Airport looked like the best option as it is directly connected to Changi airport. No need to take a taxi or bus, you can walk directly to the lobby from Terminal 3. We were the only ones to check in at around 5pm so it was quick and hassle free.

The room at Crowne Plaza Changi Airport

The room is very bright and we could see the planes taking off. But no need to worry about the noise, the room is well sound proofed. What we liked most were the floor to ceiling windows, making the room very bright and the large comfortable King bed. A sitting area, working desk and complimentary coffee machine completes the room. The Crowne Plaza Changi really isn’t like the usual airport hotel. It’s stylish and well laid out- you don’t want to leave!

The bathroom

The bathroom is open to the room (but you can close the blind for privacy), has a shower as well as a tub. Bathrobes and a selection of “thisworks” bath products are also available.

The Pool at Crowne Plaza Changi

The pool area is fantastic. You feel like in a lush tropical resort rather than an airport hotel. Alexandre and Chloé loved playing hide and seek around the palm trees but agreed that the water was a bit chilly. While the kids were busy, we relaxed on the sunbeds around the pool.

An Oasis of calm

Crowne Plaza Changi Lounge and Azur Restaurant

We spent the evening in the Crowne Plaza Club Lounge. During the evening cocktail from 5.30-8.30 you can enjoy a selection of sushi, salad, hot food and dessert. The bar man prepares your favorite cocktail or serves you a chilled glass of your preferred wine. We went for sushi and spring rolls paired with a nice glass of Chardonnay. We appreciated the serene atmosphere inside this lounge, which is definitely not always the case in other hotels.

Breakfast is served at the restaurant Azur. It offers a great selection of Western and Asian items served buffet style as well as several live cooking stations. We were perfectly refuelled for the onward flight to Bali. The staff was very professional and friendly.

We were looking for a relaxing hotel for our stopover and the Crowne Plaza Changi totally fulfilled this criteria. The Club Lounge even surpassed our expectations. You’ll not be surprised to hear that we will definitely book here again on a next layover in Singapore!
