The Sofitel New York is located on W 44th Street in Midtown Manhattan only one block away from the hustle and bustle of Time Square.
Sofitel New York – The Arrival
From Philadelphia, we arrived in New York City by car. Surprisingly it was easier to drive in Manhattan than we thought. Coming out of the Lincoln tunnel, we were only minutes away from the hotel. We left the car with the valet service.
Sofitel New York – The Executive Suite
We booked a Suite and assumed that the sofa was convertible. Unlike other Sofitel hotels this was not the case in New York. So a bed was added to the living room, eating up pretty much space of the 60 square meters Suite.
The king bed was comfortable, as always at Sofitel. Our Suite had 2 tvs, a desk, a minibar and a living room (useless because of the extra bed).
The bathroom was of a decent size equipped with a bathtub, separate shower and Hermes toiletries.
For turndown service, we were only given 2 small Evian bottles. No extra attention ever in the room, not on arrival, nor for the kids. Biggest complaint, is that we had to call at least 3 times the day of our arrival for the extra bed. It was already late when we came from dinner and what a bad surprise that the bed still wasn’t ready.
Sofitel New York – The Bar
One evening we decided to finish the day at Gaby. While the drinks were ok, service was just average.

*Good location for business and leisure traveler alike.
*Park the car yourself in a nearby garage or if you can, avoid coming to Manhattan with your car.
*Free breakfast for kids with paying adults
