Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin Review

After arriving at Dublin airport under blue skies, we took a taxi to the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin. The ride to the city is only 20-25 minutes when there’s no traffic and costs ∼22 €. It’s the fastest and most convenient way to get to hotel as most of the bus shuttles stop several times before reaching the center.

The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Dublin. Since all main attractions are within easy walking distance, it’s the ideal hotel for exploring Dublin.

Also, the check-in at the hotel was quick and friendly. The receptionist gave us a map and showed us Dublins main sights and recommended some restaurants and bars.

Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin – The Room

Unfortunately we had to decline the first room we were given as it was an accessible room and had no bathtub. This again is a example where we don’t understand the room attribution policy. If you have enough rooms available why would you give an accessible room to guests that don’t need it?

We were much happier with the second room where we had a tub and a separate rain shower.

The room itself was spacious but pretty standard. The minibar was empty and no water was supplied. No welcome treat either, no bathrobes, no slippers, no turndown service. What was more annoying is that our room had a connecting door and you could clearly hear what was going on next door. We also had some trouble setting the room temperature: when the A/C was on, it was too cold but when you turned it off it got pretty hot. The channel selection on TV was the least one can say, ridiculous.

The bed and duvet were nice though! We had a good night sleep.

Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin – Breakfast

The breakfast especially, was a great value for money. Upon check-in we were told they had a special offer at 12€ per person. At that rate we thought we cannot go wrong for a buffet breakfast. We were right! There was everything one can wish for: English breakfast, salmon and ham, fruits, delicious bread and pastries. Also, there was a menu on the table should you wish waffles or some other special dishes made to order.
