First things first. If you are planning to stay at Marrol’s Boutique Hotel Bratislava, you should contact the hotel before your arrival in order to arrange pickup (if you don’t arrive by car) We were scammed by an unscrupulous taxi driver as soon as we stepped out of the bus station. We paid 22,20€ for a 1,6km – 8 minutes drive to the hotel!!! In order to avert our mishap: Never take a taxi in the streets of Bratislava!! You don’t want to get ripped of!
Back to the hotel. The Marrol’s Boutique Hotel is located close to the Danube River Promenade and the Old Town. It’s not right in the city center but literally only a few steps away. It takes no more than 4 minutes walking to the Slovak National Theatre. The checkin process was quick and we were offered a glass of sparkling slovak wine.
We booked the hotel’s Garden Suite that could accommodate the four of us. The 46 sqm Suite has an exclusive access to the private summer terrace. It consists of two separate rooms with a convertible sofa in the livingroom and a king size bed in the bedroom. The retro style bathroom is quite spacious. The minibar is free and offers a nice selection of soft drinks, local beer and wine, as well as sweet and salty snacks.
Bathroom Amenities
The buffet breakfast is included in the room rate. The selection is fair. What we didn’t like is that there’s no service for the drinks. In a hotel of this standing you should be served coffee/ tea at the table, no self service.
Messina Restaurant
While we relaxed in the lobby, a nice lady offered some games for A and C to play with. We loved the atmosphere in the lobby were a fire was sizzling.
