For our stay in Boston we chose the Intercontinental Boston. It is conveniently located on Atlantic Avenue only 10 minutes from Logan Airport by taxi (perfect after a long flight) and in walking distance to all major tourist sites.
We had a large room with a beautiful view on the Inner Harbor, the Boston Tea Party and the Children Museum. The room is clean and well furnished with a big flat screen, a desk if you need to work and lightning fast internet. The bathroom as well is huge with a soaking tub and a separate shower. The hotel provides bathrobes and slippers.
The Fitness Center is spacious and well equipped with many options for fitness activities. The pool is perfect if you want to do some laps. There are lots of towels, water stations and various toiletries in the changing rooms.
Dining at Intercontinental Boston
Every morning we had breakfast at Miel “Brasserie Provençale”. There was a good selection and they had a kids menu. The Belgian Waffles were the best we’ve ever had! If you stay at the Intercontinental, don’t miss them! On Sundays they have a brunch where you can try all the dishes they have on the menu. Make sure to book a table as it is very popular!
One evening we had sushi at Sushi-Teq. Fresh and tasty, although some were very spicy!
Unfortunately we had no opportunity to have a drink at RumBa, their “Rum and Champagne Bar”. It looks very welcoming with 2 big fireplaces and lots of seating.
The hotel staff reception/restaurant/concierge was nice and helpful.
Pros and Cons:
+spacious rooms
+professional service
+complimentary wifi
+nice views
+good location
-excessive delivery charge & taxes on room service
-no “easy going” eating options close by
If we come back to Boston, there’s no doubt we will be staying again at the Intercontinental Boston!
