The Ritz- Carlton Millenia Singapore

After reading a lot of hotel reviews, the Ritz- Carlton Millenia Singapore was our choice for our 5 nights stay in Singapore. The main criterias were location, views and a club level service. Second was the Fairmont, but views would definitely be better at the Ritz- Carlton.

The Lobby with Cornucopia, a three-tonne sculpture created by Frank Stella.

When landing at Changi it’s an easy 20-25 minutes taxi transfer to the hotel. If you are booked in club level, you are immediately taken to the 32 floor were a private check-in is done.

The luxurious rooms are big and the large windows let a lot of light flow in. There’s a nice seating area with complementary magazines and a big desk. A Nespresso machine is provided as well.

The porthole windows in the bathroom have beautiful views over the city. The bathroom amenities are from Asprey.

In the Ritz-Carlton Club lounge on the 32nd floor, food presentations are changed five times a day. You have all day access to alcohol and not the cheap stuff. You can start your day with Louis Roederer champagne and finish it with a Singapore Sling. The mindful service from the lounge staff never leaves you with an empty glass. The food from asian to western is plentiful and delicious. And the view is unbeatable.

The pool area is nice but nothing special. It looks a bit old and worn down. You cannot really relax because of the ambient noise but then again you are in a big city.

The location is great. It’s in walking distance to several malls (Suntec, Marina Bay, Millenia Walk), Gardens by the Bay, Singapore Flyer, Merlion Park and multiple hotels. It only takes two minutes to the Helix Bridge from where you have nice CBD views especially at night.

This time we travelled as a couple, but the Ritz Carlton has special amenities for kids. We can’t wait to take A and C if we go back to Singapore.

Pros and Cons of The Ritz- Carlton Millenia Singapore

+ great views from Club lounge and higher rooms facing Marina Bay
+ staff is welcoming and doing their best to deliver good service
+ large choice of great wines
+ internet is free, fast and reliable
+ bed is heavenly
+ complimentary transport service around Marina Bay
– cleanliness of the room
– no welcome treat in the room (nor during the stay)
– charged the total amount of our stay twice on the Visa which resulted in our card blocked. Yes, they apologized but we don’t think that was enough!

This was our first stay at a Ritz- Carlton Hotel. The overall feeling is positive. Most of the hotel staff is highly professional and kind. Loved the room furnitures and especially the bed- one of the most comfortable ever. The icing on the cake is definitely the Club Lounge, having a glass of champagne with the view on Marina Bay- it doesn’t get better than this!
